• This beautiful Female Cardinal is sitting on a branch with a soft blue sky behind her.
• Her coloring is earthtones and yellow with touches of black and red.
• To get this color, the artist first paints the Female Cardinal in multiple layers of paint using enamels made from ground glass.
• Then, the Artist paints the background color in multiple layers on the backside of the glass.
• Secondly, when all layers are dry, she cooks the piece in a glass kiln at temperatures up to 1400 degrees.
• The extreme heat of the kiln sets the paint and strengthens the glass.
• After cooling, the artist affixes the Female Cardinal Fused Glass Painting to the 10’ X 10” wooden display frame using 1" offset blocks to make it stand out.
• Lastly, once the glue is set, the artist wires the back of the frame to hang on a wall.
• This Display frame can also stand by itself on a table.

About the Artist:

Kathleen Camara painted oil and acrylic portraits, animal art and seascapes for over 20 years.  Then she found fused glass art.  She is now creating jewelry, home decor and hand painted wall art.  A majority of her work incorporates recycled glass.  She still paints portraits, animals and seascapes, only now they are on kiln fired glass.
